2/20/25: Power Outage Affecting our Area

Power Outage Update

2/20/25 9:00 AM: Santee Cooper is reporting that all areas experiencing power outages have been restored. However, our phone lines Wi-Fi and cable systems are experiencing outages, our IT team is working on this and we hope to have everything up and running soon. We appreciate your patience this morning.

What You Need to Know

Lakewood Camping Resort, along with much of our surrounding area, is currently experiencing a mass power outage. This is not a Lakewood-specific issue Santee Cooper is aware of the situation and is actively working to restore power as quickly as possible.

Due to the outage, our phone lines are also down at this time. If you need to make a reservation, the best way to do so is by visiting our website at www.lakewoodcampingresort.com.

With temperatures dropping this morning, here are a few tips to stay warm while the power is out:

1. Layer Up: Wear multiple layers to trap body heat. Fleece, wool, and thermal materials work best.

2. Stay Indoors & Close Off Unused Rooms- Keep doors shut to retain warmth in the areas you’re using.

3. Use Blankets & Sleeping Bags: Wrapping up in thick blankets or sleeping bags can help insulate heat.

4. Drink Warm Beverages: If you have a gas stove or a camping stove, warm drinks like tea, coffee, or hot chocolate can help maintain body heat.

5. Be Mindful of Alternative Heat Sources: If using space heaters, fireplaces, or candles, be sure to follow all safety precautions. Never use outdoor grills or gas stoves for indoor heating.

We appreciate your patience and understanding. We will provide updates as soon as we receive more information. Stay warm, and thank you for being part of the Lakewood family!
