41st American Heart Association Beach Ride to raise $550,000 for Research

News Release provided by the American Heart Association:

The American Heart Association is celebrating its 41st annual Beach Ride in Myrtle Beach from November 2-6, 2022, at Lakewood Camping Resort. The campaign raises awareness that cardiovascular disease remains the No.1 cause of death, affecting one out of every three Americans.

On Wednesday, November 2nd, over 1,000 horses and trail riders will arrive at Lakewood Camping Resort. Participants will travel from more than 22 states for this five-day event that will feature a vendor village, a costume parade, karaoke competition, nightly entertainment, and auction. The annual 20-mile beach ride will take place Saturday, November 5th at 8:00 a.m. between Lakewood Camping Resort and 54th Avenue North.

“We are excited to be back this year with a full schedule of events for our participants,” says Lindsay Pampani, Director of Development at the American Heart Association. “Due to COVID over the last two years, safety protocols were at the front of our campaign, and we did not offer a full program. Our riders are excited to celebrate this milestone once again with the full schedule of activities on the beautiful beaches of Myrtle Beach. This event would not be possible without the support of the Myrtle Beach community.”

In its 41 years, the Beach Ride has raised $7 million for cardiovascular research helping AHA discover better treatment for heart disease and stroke. Research funded by the AHA Beach Ride has many important scientific advances including drug-coated stents, CPR guidelines and microsurgery. The goal for the 2022 American Heart Association Beach Ride is to raise $550,000 for heart and stroke research. For more information, visit AHABeachRide.org.
