Qualifications for all positions include the ability to work as a team member within this department AND all other departments, reliable transportation, valid driver’s license with good record, working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions, walking, sitting or standing for extended periods of time, including pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, or lifting up to 50 pounds. Some positions may require lifting more than 50 pounds. While an individual may be assigned to this particular role, situations may arise which would REQUIRE assistance in other areas or departments.

Summary:

The Bike Repair Technician is responsible for providing high-quality bicycle repair and maintenance services to customers at Lakewood Camping Resort. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safety and satisfaction of guests by ensuring that bicycles are properly maintained and in optimal condition for use.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform bicycle inspections to assess the condition and identify any repairs or maintenance needs.
  2. Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on various types of bicycles, including but not limited to, mountain bikes, road bikes, cruisers, and electric bikes.
  3. Replace or repair damaged or worn-out components such as brakes, gears, chains, tires, and tubes.
  4. Tune and adjust bicycles to ensure proper functionality and performance, including adjusting brakes, derailleurs, and suspension systems.
  5. Assemble new bicycles and perform quality checks to ensure they meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
  6. Provide expert advice and recommendations to customers on proper bike maintenance, upgrades, and accessories.
  7. Assist customers with bike rentals, including fitting bikes to riders and providing basic instruction on bike operation and safety.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized repair shop area, including proper storage of tools, equipment, and inventory.
  9. Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance services, and parts inventory using computerized systems or manual logs.
  10. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, advancements in bicycle technology, and best practices for repair and maintenance techniques.
  11. May be asked to perform other duties in other departments as assigned by supervisor or manager

Qualifications:

– Previous experience as a bicycle mechanic or repair technician preferred.

– Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues.

– Knowledge of bicycle components, systems, and maintenance procedures.

– Proficiency in using tools and equipment commonly used in bike repair and maintenance.

– Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

– Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and provide expert advice and assistance.

– Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

– Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.

– Passion for cycling and a desire to promote cycling as a recreational activity.

Requirements:

– High school diploma or equivalent.

– Certification from a recognized bicycle mechanic training program is a plus.

– Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time or part-time position based at the bike repair shop within Lakewood Camping Resort. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors, depending on weather conditions.
