Qualifications for all positions include the ability to work as a team member within this department AND all other departments, reliable transportation, valid driver’s license with good record, working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions, walking, sitting, or standing for extended periods of time, including pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, or lifting up to 50 pounds. Some positions may require lifting more than 50 pounds. While an individual may be assigned to this particular role, situations may arise which would REQUIRE assistance in other areas or departments.

Job Summary:

The Coffee Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the coffee shop at Lakewood Camping Resort. This role involves managing a team of baristas, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining quality standards, and maximizing profitability. The Coffee Shop Supervisor will also be responsible for inventory management, scheduling, training staff, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership:

– Supervise and motivate a team of baristas and cooks to deliver excellent customer service.

– Delegate tasks effectively to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.

– Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, updates, and provide feedback.

  1. Customer Service:

– Ensure all customers receive prompt and friendly service.

– Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner.

– Monitor customer satisfaction and implement improvements as needed.

  1. Quality Control:

– Maintain high standards of product quality, cleanliness, and presentation.

– Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to food safety regulations and cleanliness standards.

– Monitor beverage preparation to ensure consistency and quality.

  1. Inventory Management:

– Oversee inventory levels and place orders for coffee, supplies, and other related items.

– Receive and inspect deliveries to ensure accuracy and quality.

– Minimize waste and control costs through efficient inventory management practices.

  1. Training and Development:

– Train new employees on coffee preparation techniques, customer service standards, and operational procedures.

– Provide ongoing coaching and support to staff to enhance their skills and performance.

– Identify training needs and coordinate additional training sessions as required.

  1. Scheduling:

– Create and manage employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage while controlling labor costs.

– Adjust schedules based on business needs and staff availability.

– Coordinate time-off requests and manage employee attendance.

  1. Financial Management:

– Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue.

– Control expenses through effective cost management practices.

– Prepare reports on sales, inventory, and other key performance indicators.

  1. Health and Safety:

– Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.

– Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential hazards.

– Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures.


– Previous experience in a supervisory role within the food and beverage industry, preferably in a coffee shop or café setting.

– Strong leadership and communication skills.

– Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality.

– Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and espresso machines.

– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.

– Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

– Basic math skills for inventory management and cash handling.

– Familiarity with health and safety regulations.

– Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.


– High school diploma or equivalent required.

– Additional education or training in hospitality management or related field preferred.

Physical Requirements:

– Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

– Manual dexterity for operating equipment such as coffee machines and cash registers.

– Ability to work in a confined space and tolerate exposure to heat and steam.

Working Conditions:

– The role is primarily indoors in a coffee shop environment.

– May be exposed to hot surfaces, steam, and occasional loud noises.

– Work schedule may vary and include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
