Ice Cream Team Member
Qualifications for all positions include the ability to work as a team member within this department AND all other departments, reliable transportation, valid driver’s license with good record, working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions, walking, sitting or standing for extended periods of time, including pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, or lifting up to 50 pounds. Some positions may require lifting more than 50 pounds. While an individual may be assigned to this role, situations may arise which would REQUIRE assistance in other areas or departments.
Expectations:
- Employees must follow written and oral instructions promptly and professionally and perform general duties as assigned by their supervisor or manager.
- Employees must maintain a positive attitude, demonstrate excellent customer service skills, and uphold the confidentiality of company information. Availability to work weekends, holidays (with all employees required to work during the week of July 4th), or overtime as determined by the supervisor is essential. Second – shift employees should plan for additional travel time to ensure adherence to the schedule.
- Professional appearance is always required. Lakewood will provide polo shirts, and employees are expected to wear navy or khaki shorts with a minimum 6-inch inseam as part of the uniform. Long hair must be secured, and only closed toe shoes are permitted.
- Employees will receive cross training in operating cash registers and preparing food in both shops.
- Must also be proficient in handling and counting money, as well as operating a cash register.
Job responsibilities:
- Efficiently and swiftly take orders and prepare ice creams, smoothies, and drinks to ensure timely service.
- Regularly clean and sanitize all workstations and food preparation areas in compliance with DHEC regulations.
- Ensure the work area is fully stocked throughout the shift, including restocking at the end of the shift for the next team.
- At the end of each shift, thoroughly clean the work areas, restock supplies, and wash dishes to prepare for the incoming shift.
- Food safety compliance is important. Consistently wear food gloves and adhere to food safety protocols, including proper labeling, rotating, dating, and storing of food items as per manager guidelines and DHEC regulations.
