Lifeguard and Pool Attendant

For all positions in this department, safety responsibilities are to promote a safe work environment using proper safety equipment, take responsibility for personal safety while carrying out assigned tasks and inform supervisor of any work related injuries, hazards or concerns at time of occurrence.

To Qualify for Lifeguard, this person must be at least 16 years old and meet physical requirements for lifeguard certification (Provided by Lakewood Camping Resort). To become certified, one must be able to swim 300 yards continuously, tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs and complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds.

Pool attendants must meet the same age requirement but are not required to be certified.

Expectations for all positions include the ability to follow written and oral instructions in a professional and timely manner, perform general duties as assigned by supervisor and positively communicate with all guests as well as co-workers. One must have a positive attitude and ability to maintain confidentiality of Company business and be able to work weekends, holidays or overtime as deemed necessary by supervisor. This person must also be able to work well others and be a team player and have reliable transportation.

Duties and Responsibilities are to ensure the health, safety and well-being of Lakewood’s guests, politely enforce all aquatic area rules and policies, provide first aid and emergency medical aid to guests in a timely and professional manner, follow all required safety procedures and maintain all lifeguard and safety equipment and supplies.
