Grab your swimsuits and a towel (and maybe a blanket), it’s almost time for Lakewood Camping Resort’s Annual Polar Plunge! This year, the Polar Plunge is scheduled for Sunday, December 31st (New Year’s Eve) at 2 p.m.
When you sign-up to take the dip your $5 registration fee will help support local non-profit Backpack Buddies. The organization serves Horry County by providing necessities to students in need. Participants are also required to donate two non-perishable food items, which will be used to feed children in our community.
If you want to end 2023 with a splash, just visit the Information Center to register by 1 p.m. on December 31st. Payment & your non-perishable food donation will be collected at the time of registration.
Live in the area, but not staying with us for the New Year’s Holiday?! You don’t need to be a registered Lakewood guest in order to participate, the public is welcome as well! You can register over the phone by calling 843-447-7343. Participants booking by phone will be required to pay by credit or debit card. Your non-perishable items will be collected when you check-in for the event.
Once you’re registered, you will receive your plunge number and instructions for the event.
On the day of the plunge, participants will meet at Lakewood’s Sand & Surf Stage at 1:45 p.m.
T-shirts will also be available for purchase as a symbol of your participation & service to our community.
