Since 1993 Alabama Theatre has been entertaining locals and tourists with the grandest variety show on the Grand Strand. Home of the once famous ONE The Show, now Alabama Theatre is proud to present the brand new variety show… ICONIC! Featuring new and fantastic choreography, an updated song selection, and more comedy, thrills, and entertainment.

Then, once the holiday spirit starts to fill the are, the Alabama Theatre hosts their famous South’s Grandest Christmas Show, bringing the joy of the Holiday Season to the stage.

The Carolina Opry:

The first variety show in Myrtle Beach—and still voted #1 every single year—the award-winning 39th season of The Carolina Opry show blends two hours of critically acclaimed music, comedy, and dance with 35 of the nation’s top performers and was recently named by CNBC as the “Top Attraction in Myrtle Beach!”

The Carolina Opry Theater also brings you Time Warp, the best music of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, blended with rich multimedia screens, special effects, and elaborate costuming, all performed live by the award-winning cast of The Carolina Opry.

November through December, the theater is transformed into a winter wonderland as Calvin Gilmore presents the South’s most eagerly awaited production, The Carolina Opry Christmas Special, often referred to as “The Christmas Show of the South!”

Explore More of South Carolina

If you’ve done everything there is to do along the Grand Strand and you’re still looking for more, a roughly 2-hour drive to the south will bring you to Charleston, South Carolina. Charleston is a hustling and bustling city which showcases the true roots of the low-country culture. A modernized city which is housed in historic buildings, is where you will find eclectic food and shops. Whether you want to peruse the city’s historical, downtown market, go on a carriage tour, or take a boat ride over to Fort Sumter, the whole family will enjoy this amazing day-trip!

If you’re not prepared to drive another two hours out of your way, a 30 minute drive west will bring you to downtown, historic Conway. Here you will find blocks of mom-and-pop shops and restaurants as well as the gorgeous Conway Riverwalk.

Halfway between Lakewood and Charleston you will come to find Georgetown, which has a similar feel to downtown Conway. Main Street is the home of historic homes, shops, and restaurant, which all sit waterfront.
