From expanding creative skills to fostering teamwork and resilience, the benefits of arts education extend far beyond the stage. Studies have shown that students engaged in visual and performing arts consistently outperform their peers in English and Math, demonstrating the integral role that the arts play in academic success and personal development.
As a longstanding supporter of Socastee High School Performing Arts, we are committed to going beyond financial assistance. We believe in rolling up our sleeves and getting involved in every aspect of production, from set design and construction to costume creation and makeup artistry. Our dedicated team of volunteers including both Lakewood owners and employees stand ready to lend their expertise and support. For over a decade, Lakewood has volunteered thousands of hours to help ensure that every Socastee student has the opportunity to shine on stage.
