At Lakewood Camping Resort, we’re ending 2022 the same way it started — with a splash! On Saturday, December 31, Lakewood guests and the public are invited to participate in the Annual Polar Plunge benefitting Help 4 Kids.
Lakewood Camping Resort guests can register at the Information Center with a $5 cash donation and at least two non-perishable food items. Those not staying at Lakewood who wish to participate can visit Lakewood’s Front Desk located in the main building to register. Registration is already underway and will run through December 31st at 1:30 p.m.
“The money raised, and the canned goods collected are vital to our mission of ‘no kid hungry’. During breaks, children that would otherwise get breakfast and lunch at school, would go hungry if not for the food delivered to them by our volunteers,” explained Bridget Brancato, Event Coordinator for Help 4 Kids.
On the day of the event, check-in for all registered participants will take place from 2 p.m. – 2:25 p.m. at Lakewood Camping Resort’s Sand-N-Surf Stage.
T-shirts will be available for purchase for $15 inside the Information Center to help commemorate the event. Here’s a sneak peek at the design!
During the 2022 Polar Plunge held on New Year’s Day, more than 150 participants jumped into chilly waters to support Help 4 Kids. Lakewood Camping Resort hopes to exceed the number of participants during the plunge on this New Year’s Eve.
“It is so much fun to see all the familiar faces and families come out to support Horry County children. Every year it gets bigger and bigger,” said Brancato.
