Week 3 of Hall-O-Wood Weekends at Lakewood Camping Resort (October 13 & 14, 2023)

As the autumn leaves continued to fall and the Halloween spirit filled the air, we embarked on a thrilling journey into the third weekend of Hall-O-Wood at Lakewood Camping Resort. From magical moments to spine-tingling adventures, here’s a recap of the enchanting festivities that took place on October 13th and 14th, 2023.

Friday, October 13th: A Night of Magic and Mystery

Marion’s Magical Pumpkin Patch (5:30 p.m. – Lakewood Front Lawn):

Our youngest guests eagerly gathered to plant seeds of faith and love, wondering what enchanting surprises the night would bring. This week’s planting was the largest we’ve seen so far, setting the stage for something truly magical.

Hayrides (6:30 p.m. – Pick-Up at Sand & Surf Stage):

Following the magic of Marion’s Pumpkin Patch, guests hopped aboard hayrides with the Lakewood Ministry team for a delightful tour around the resort.

“Ghoul Vibrations” Halloween Musical Revue (7:30 p.m. – Lakewood’s Theater by the Sea):

The Theater by the Sea was packed to the brim for Myrtle Beach’s only Live Halloween Show, “Ghoul Vibrations.” This thrilling and spine-tingling show is free to attend and open to the public. If you dare, join us for this unforgettable experience!

Boo by the Bay Haunted Trail (8:30 p.m. – Buccaneer Island):

Over 300 brave souls ventured to the Boo by the Bay Haunted Trail on Buccaneer Island this weekend. A hair-raising experience that’s perfect for teens and tweens, this event benefits a great cause, Waymaker Off-Road Wheelchairs. Keep an eye out for the Boo by The Bay Scare Cam footage on Lakewood’s social media pages – you never know who might pop up!

Hall-O-Wood Yard Decorating Contest (8:00 p.m.):

Guests and residents got into the spooky spirit, decking out their homes and campers in the most creative and chilling decorations. Winners were chosen by YOU, our guests, using the Lakewood Camping Resort Mobile app. Congratulations to this week’s winners in the Campsite and Annual Lease Divisions!

Saturday, October 14th: A Pumpkin-Palooza & Costume Craziness

Marion’s Magical Pumpkin Patch Harvest (9:30 a.m. – Lakewood Front Lawn):

After planting seeds of faith and love on Friday night, guests returned to Marion’s Magical Pumpkin Patch to witness the miraculous overnight growth of nearly 300 pumpkins!

Pumpkin Decorating Contest (10:00 a.m. – Lakewood Information Center):

Our creative guests showcased their artistic skills in the Pumpkin Decorating Contest, resulting in a fantastic display of pumpkin artistry. Look at those creative designs!

The Great Pumpkin Baking Championship (11:30 a.m. – Lakewood Information Center):

Guests and residents shared their favorite pumpkin recipes for a chance to be crowned this week’s champion. Congratulations to Carole S. and her grandkids for taking the top spot with their Magic Pumpkin Bars.  Coming in second place was the Heck family, with their delicious Pumpkin Mousse!

Hall-O-Wood Cupcake Walk (1:00 p.m. – Lakewood Information Center):

The Lakewood Information Center was filled with competitors seeking a sweet treat in the Hall-O-Wood Cupcake Walk. An activity that’s easy and fun for all ages.

Hall-O-Wood Pet Costume Contest (3:00 p.m. – Outdoor Pool Area):

Precious pets donned their Halloween costumes, and the competition was fierce! In the end Bella, Zoey, and Jasper Reagan took home first place for their spot-on rendition of the Sanderson Sisters. Coming in second was Cupcake Wyatt with her biker chic apparel and accessories. Rounding out the winner’s circle was Oliver York, the cutest fireman you’ve ever seen!

Trick-or-Treating (4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.):

Halloween wouldn’t be complete without trick-or-treating. Guests roamed the resort in search of sweet treats at over 75 sites around the resort.

Hall-O-Wood Golf Cart Parade & Decorating Contest (6:30 p.m. – Ocean Boulevard):

After securing their candy loot, guests marveled at the creative golf carts. Congratulations to this week’s winners in various categories!

Hall-O-Wood Costume Contest (7:30 p.m. – Lakewood’s Theater by the Sea):

Over 200 guests showcased their costumes, competing for the title of “Best Costume” in their age division. The evening was filled with spooky, scary, and sweet costumes, making it a truly memorable event.
