Maintenance Worker (Landscaping and Grounds)
Qualifications for all positions include the ability to work as a team member within this department AND all other departments, reliable transportation, valid driver’s license with good record, working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions, walking, sitting or standing for extended periods of time, including pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, or lifting up to 50 pounds. Some positions may require lifting more than 50 pounds. While an individual may be assigned to this role, situations may arise which would REQUIRE assistance in other areas or departments.
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Worker with a focus on landscaping and grounds is responsible for maintaining the appearance and functionality of outdoor spaces at Lakewood Camping Resort. This role plays a vital part in enhancing the guest experience by ensuring that the grounds are well-kept, aesthetically pleasing, and safe for visitors to enjoy. This is a full-time position primarily based outdoors, with exposure to various weather conditions and physical demands. Flexible hours may be required based on seasonal needs. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine landscaping tasks, including mowing, edging, and trimming grass and weeds.
- Plant, water, and maintain flowers, shrubs, trees, and other landscaping elements to enhance the beauty of the grounds.
- Remove leaves, large rocks, sticks, branches debris, and other litter from walkways, parking lots, and common areas to maintain cleanliness.
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and tools, such as lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and irrigation systems.
- Assist with landscape design and installation projects, including planting new vegetation and installing landscape features.
- Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides as needed to promote healthy growth and control pests and weeds.
- Monitor irrigation systems and adjust ensure proper watering and conservation of water resources.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks on outdoor structures, such as fences, benches, and playground equipment.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members to prioritize tasks and complete work orders promptly.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including documenting maintenance activities, and reporting any issues or concerns to the maintenance supervisor.
- Power Wash locations within the campground as directed
- May be asked to perform other duties in other departments as assigned by supervisor or manager
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of landscaping techniques, plant care, and horticultural practices.
- Familiarity with operating landscaping equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and kneeling, for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work outdoors in various weather conditions and adapt to changing priorities.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification or training in landscaping or horticulture is a plus.
